Bentley is preparing to enter the electric era with its first fully electric production vehicle — a compact, ultra-luxurious Urban SUV set to debut in late 2026 and go on sale in early 2027. Positioned just below the Bentayga, this new model will serve as Bentley’s smaller, more city-friendly SUV while maintaining the brand’s signature opulence.
The upcoming SUV will measure under 16.4 feet in length, only slightly shorter than the Bentayga, and will be built on Volkswagen Group’s PPE platform, shared with models like the Audi Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan Electric. Bentley targets a driving range of 350–400 miles and promises exceptionally fast charging speeds — a clear indication that this EV will blend grand touring luxury with cutting-edge performance.
According to CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser, the SUV will offer a staggering 46 billion different option configurations, allowing customers an unprecedented level of personalization. “We want to make sure every Bentley feels truly unique,” Walliser said, adding that despite being electric, the new model will feature an “exhilarating” propulsion sound to maintain the emotional connection drivers expect from the brand.
Visually, the new SUV will echo Bentley’s latest design language, with cues drawn from the EXP 15 concept — including a bold, upright front end and slim lighting elements. While it may not stray far from the Bentayga’s silhouette, expect a more modern and aerodynamic look suited for an EV.
Though details about power output and battery size remain under wraps, Walliser has hinted that the Urban SUV will “push the boundaries” of what’s possible in terms of charging speed, energy density, and motor efficiency.
With the Bentayga continuing to dominate Bentley’s sales — accounting for over 40% of deliveries in 2024 — the brand clearly sees room to expand its SUV lineup. This new five-seater aims to capture customers seeking Bentley craftsmanship and prestige in a more sustainable, high-tech package.
In short, Bentley’s Urban SUV represents the beginning of a new chapter: a blend of electrification, extravagance, and nearly limitless personalization, redefining what it means to drive an electric luxury SUV.
